Portable Wheelchair Lifts & Fixed Wheelchair Lifts

What Our Convention Center Customers Say About Ascension Wheelchair Lifts

"The Anaheim Convention Center has been using the Ascension portable wheelchair lifts since 1996. They are by far the best wheelchair lifts on the market. It is built with quality and because of this, we can always rely on them to work when they are needed. In my book Ascension is heads above their competition. All the safety features that they put in their wheelchair lift are why it is so user friendly."

James Eddy, Stores & Wardrobe Manager

Anaheim Convention Center

Anaheim, CA

"The Arlington Convention Center has been using the Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift for about 14 years, and it has always been reliable each time it was needed. We especially appreciate the many safety features that prevent it from being misused or used in an inappropriate manner."

Dave Johnson, Operations Manager

Arlington Convention Center

Arlington, TX

"The Bangor Auditorium and Civic Center has owned an Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift since March of 2000. To say that we are pleased with this product would be an understatement. The lift has performed flawlessly and because of its ease of use, has bailed us out of many a situation where the need to make our stage sets accessible was not known until virtually the last minute! The lift requires minimal maintenance and is always ready to go when we need it. I wish we could say that about all our equipment. Keep up the good work!"

Michael Dyer, Director, Bass Park Complex

Bangor Auditorium and Civic Center

Bangor, ME

"The Brockville Arts Centre was very pleased with the excellent service and technical support we received from Ascension. Their technical department worked with our designers to come up with a solution that allows wheelchair patrons to access both our stage and orchestra pit. Our sales consultant was extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with and professional at all times. They delivered a 1st class product and exceptional customer service. We highly recommend them."

Peter Dunn, Administrator of Cultural Programs

Brockville Arts Centre

Brockville, ON Canada

"We have used our lift for about two years, the times that we needed it, it was easy to transport and set to the height of our stages."

Terry Beard, Custodial Maintenance Supervisor

Century II Convention Center

Wichita, KS

"Just a quick memo to thank you for the customer support we received as we endeavoured to install the Ascension wheelchair lift into the center bleacher area of a hockey arena. Due to the original construction details having precast concrete slabs forming the seating space with no structure below, this was not a straightforward project, thus your input and frequent follow up was greatly appreciated. Upon completion, the lift performs well as we expected and is a valuable asset for user patrons who now may attend games while seated at center ice. Our Arena Operators will be monitoring the usage and quite likely budget for additional installations in the future. Thanks again."

Stan Russell, Supervisor of Project Services

City of Winnipeg, Planning Property & Development, Building Services Division

Winnipeg, MB Canada

"We here at the Dallas Convention Center are very satisfied with Ascension's Portable Wheelchair Lift. It is very versatile which enables us to use it on varying heights of staging as well as move it to different locations. The lift is very durable and has not had any mechanical problems during the six years we have had it."

Stanley Hayes, Operations Manager

Dallas Convention Center

Dallas, TX

"I can honestly say that the Ascension portable lift is a reliable, sturdy, easy to operate, attractive, space saving alternative to ADA ramps for staging. I have used them in three facilities (David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Hynes Convention Center, and the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center) and have trained staff in their operation with positive results. The portability of the unit is another key reason for owning it; utilizing multiple ramps is an expensive, time consuming and space demanding answer to client services when all you have to do is move the lift from one location to another."

Paul O'Connell, Director of Operations

David L. Lawrence Convention Center

Pittsburgh, PA

"We are very happy with our unit, and it has helped us out a lot on locating people to a stage setting in conferences and conventions. Thanks!"

Dwaine Schuldt, Operations Director

Dena'ina Civic & Convention Center

"You guys must make a great product, the unit we have at the Duke Energy Convention Center is still being utilized to this very day. I will hold onto your contact information "just in case" there may be a need down the road."

"It's a great buy. The lift is easy to use and very helpful in getting people into difficult areas."

Lee Amabisca, Maintenance Supervisor

Fresno Convention Center

Fresno, CA

"We have used the Ascension portable wheelchair lift now for about two years. In that time, it has become apparent that it is the superior way to gain access to our staging. Our ramps have been gathering dust in the storage areas. Not only is it faster and safer than a ramp system it requires less space in both the event layout and storage of the unit. A win, win situation. In a convention center everything is always on the move and having the lift on wheels fit our needs perfectly."

Monty Patrick, Building Supervisor

Grand Wayne Convention Center

Ft Wayne, IN

"We have had the lift in service since 1997 and have found it to be a valuable tool. We use it on a limited basis where we utilize seating risers & stages that would create a barrier to attendees who have mobility issues. It has been trouble-free requiring little maintenance and is well received by our clients."

Mike Polovcin, Director of Operations

Hawaii Convention Center

Honolulu, HI

"I would to like to thank Brent Williams and his staff for providing the Ascension wheelchair lift, Model 5460P, for the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center. We purchased one about three years ago. It provides easy set up, and one or two persons can set it up which makes it efficient. We have many events, and our clients love it. Building size 1.2 million square ft of space, three large ballrooms, four large exhibits halls, and several meeting rooms. Please take the time to view our building on the internet at www.SanAntonio.gov and book your next event here to see the San Antonio River Walk, the Alamo, Fiesta Texas, and Sea World. We are so pleased with your product that I have put in an order for three more, and they will arrive this year. The training video is great."

David Gonzales, Building Maintenance Officer

"In the six years that we have owned our wheel chair lift, it has proven to be one of the easiest and most invaluable pieces of equipment in our inventory. Setting it up with the various sizes of risers and staging that we have is easy and maintenance is so simple it practically takes care of itself."

Ed Harris, Operations Manager

Knoxville Convention Center

Knoxville, TN

"We had the good fortune of purchasing an Ascension SLA-2050ES wheelchair lift in October of 1997. Prior to this time we had no means of allowing persons with disabilities to access stages higher than 2'. Now that we host eight high school graduations and three University Commencements we have found the lift to be invaluable to our operation for these events in particular. We also use the lift for banquets and other events throughout our facilities. The lift is adaptable to a variety of stage heights which is critical for us. We are also very pleased with the lift's ease of operation and safety features. Equally important to us is the fact that Ascension has always been available for us anytime we have questions or need help with the lift. Their customer service is outstanding and I recommend this product and Ascension for anyone looking to secure a lift."

Chuck Vestal, Assistant Director of Event Services

Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Winston-Salem, NC

"The Los Angeles Convention Center has used our two portable Ascension wheelchair lifts continuously for 13 years. The units are of the highest quality construction and design and have only required regular, routine lubrication and inspection. The lifts have been extremely reliable and have never failed to operate properly. Thanks for an excellent and reliable product."

"I'm very pleased with my purchase of the Ascension wheelchair lift. I have an Arena, Concert Hall, amphitheater, commercial exhibit hall and meeting rooms. This unit has proved the most flexible in meeting all my needs to provide wheelchair access to my various stage heights. The large casters have made it easily transportable among the facilities. I have found none to match it in use, flexibility, transportability and reliability. You have my full endorsement."

John C. Fuhrmann, Events and Services Manager

Neil Blaisdell Center

Honolulu, HI

"We have used the Ascension portable wheelchair lift now for about ten years and I can easily say that it is a superior way to access our different stage configurations in our facility. It is a labor saving asset for our operations crew, very portable, stores away neatly and easy to operate for our clients. Over the years our clients have become accustomed to using this great piece of equipment during their events. A great buy!"

"I just wanted to take a moment and share with you our experience here at the Phoenix Convention Center and Venues with your Ascension Vertical Portable Wheelchair lift. It has been a pleasure working with these units. As you are already aware, we've already had 2 units before we bought the 3rd unit for the expansion. My staff loves working with them because they are simple to operate, to set-up and take down. Plus, it saves us a lot of time and labor from setting up a wheel chair ramp. Since we owned them, we have not had any major malfunctioning on any of these units. I would recommend these units to any company out there that is in the process of buying one or considering to purchase one in the future."

Prasan De Silva, Event Services Manager

Phoenix Convention Center & Venues

Phoenix, AZ

"The electric Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift has been a great addition to our equipment inventory. We had previously used a portable wheelchair ramp which took up more space, time and labor to put into position. Many times in the past we would have to adjust our setup to accommodate the long ramp. With the electric Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift, we can place it just about anywhere, it can be set up and operational in minutes for those last minute requests, and it looks beautiful. This one piece of equipment has noticeably elevated our service to a new level."

Rick Romio, Facility Services Manager

San Diego Concourse

San Diego, CA

"We have used the Ascension SLA 2050ESD lift in our buildings for about 7 years now. We use it approximately 3-4 times a year and have had great results."

Russ Northup, Building Maintenance Superintendent

San Jose Convention Center

San Jose, CA

"I just wanted you to know that it has been over 7 years now since we had purchased the wheelchair lift. At the old convention center we used it about 5 times. It worked really well and met all the needs of our clients. When the City of Santa Fe decided to build a new and real convention center we had to store the wheel chair lift for almost three years. When we opened in October of 2008 we brought the wheel lift to the new convention center. In January 2009 we had a request to use the wheel chair lift for Assisted Dogs of the South West and their owners who are handicap. It took us about 20 minutes to figure out because we had not used it in three years. Once we figured it out, it worked like a charm. Our client was very happy. I have used it twice since then and have had no problem setting it up or using it. The thing I really like is the customer service I get from Ascension. You guys have called me monthly to check on the lift and how's it working. You also sent me extra keys as well with no questions asked. This is the customer service that I would love to get from all the other companies I deal with. I'm so happy that I purchased the wheelchair lift from Ascension. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again for being so attentive to all my needs, you guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

William Trujillo, Operations Manager

Santa Fe Community Convention Center

Santa Fe, NM

It arrived on schedule and in great condition. I was very impressed with the attention to all the details. Thank you very much for your quality workmanship."

Dale Wittman, Project Specialist

"We purchased an Ascension SLA-2000 portable lift in 1994 and have had fifteen years of flawless performance. The lift is easy to transport, simple to set up and extremely safe to operate. The versatility of the lift allows us to utilize the lift for various stage heights and the portability allows us to use the lift at different locations. It is safe, dependable and provides the client with a stable and secure means of accessing the stage. Thank you, Ascension, for providing a safe and reliable product."

Ronnie Hammond, Division Manager

Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation

Shreveport, LA

"We have Ascension lifts in both the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena and in the new Spokane Convention Center. We have found both lifts to be very effective in assisting our disabled guests with access to head tables and stages. The lifts you sold us years ago are still functioning very well. Thanks for a great product which allows us to provide a great service for our guests."

Kevin Twohig, General Manager

Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena

Spokane, WA

"We have been using the Ascension Portable Wheelchair lift for quite a few years and have had great success with it. Our clients find it very accommodating and easy to operate. Our staff appreciates the ease in which they can move it from venue to venue. It has been a great investment and a great addition to our facilities."

Andrew Brown, Event Services Manager

Tucson Convention Center

Tucson, AZ

"Two years ago, we purchased an Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift and have been quite happy with its operation. We've used it a number of times to aid those with disabilities to access stages for everything from receiving diplomas to giving speeches. It has met our needs with regard to the Americans With Disabilities Act much better than the very long ramp that we used to use. Being a convention facility, we are required by our clients to erect stages of differing heights and the flexibility of the Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift allows people in wheelchairs to easily gain access to the stage surface no matter what the height is. Our Event Services Support Staff enjoys working with the Portable Wheelchair Lift as it is easy to move from space to space, as needed. It is also extremely easy to set up and it can be done in just a few minutes. Most of all, those in wheelchairs enjoy the ease of operation of the Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift, the safety features and the smooth ride up or down from the platform."

Bob Mayer, Director

Tulsa Convention Center

Tulsa, OK

"This is the second building I have managed and have recommended to the board to invest in an Ascension Lift for the facility. When combining the ease in setting it up, ability to place it where ever needed, simple training for the staff, along with the savings in time, labor and storage of the unit over the previous method of building the long and complicated ramps to the stage or platforms, the facts speak for themselves. I would and have recommended this unit to people who are looking for a versatile, sturdy, portable, reliable and easy to operate machine. The lift has proven to staff and our guests that it is worth every penny of the cost and investment."

Glenn Walinski, Facility Manager

Tyson Events Center

Sioux City, IA

"We have only used the lift about a dozen times over the past 5 years, but when we have put it in play, it saved countless hours of labor time and having to construct an accessible ramp to accommodate the stage rise. Add the square footage necessary to set a ramp and there is nothing that beats the Ascension Portable Wheelchair Lift. If there is a last minute notification of the need, we don't sweat it at all. We have also used it for ambulatory guests with limited mobility that cannot negotiate steps up to a head table. It's a vital piece of our meeting and convention equipment inventory."

Lawrence E. Gawronski, CFE, VP/Executive Director

Vicksburg Convention Center and Auditorium

Vicksburg, MS

"I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about our wheelchair lift we bought from you. It has served us well for over 15 years and has been very dependable. It has also saved us a lot of labor due to the fact we used to install wheelchair ramps. These ramps usually take us four times the labor to set and strike. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone that's in the market for one."

Fuad N. Rabbo, Set-up Supervisor

Washington State Convention & Trade Center

Seattle, WA

"Our facilities host College and High School Graduations, political gatherings, concerts, and religious gatherings just to name a few. The lift has been a great addition to our equipment inventory and our customers are very pleased that we have purchased it. It is operator friendly which means it only takes one person to operate it from any level and it is quick and easy to transport and set up. This was a very good purchase."

Jim White, Assistant General Manager/Operations Manager

Westerner Park

Red Deer, AB Canada

"The Wisconsin Center District (WCD) owns/operates three facilities in downtown Milwaukee: the Frontier Airlines Center (convention complex), the U.S. Cellular Arena, and the Milwaukee Theatre. Given the diverse types of events and patrons that utilize these venues, it was necessary to find a lift that was safe, portable, easy to use, and work in conjunction with our different stage heights. We also were looking for a lift that the patrons would be able to operate on their own allowing them the independence they often desire. In order to meet all of these needs, the WCD selected the Ascension Vertical Portable Wheelchair Lift. This unit has allowed us the ability to meet the needs of our ADA patrons, and has provided consistent service for over a decade."

Robert Seefeld, Director of Building Services

Wisconsin Center District

Milwaukee, WI
